(May 7, 2026) Montgomery, TX– Building evolved wake boats with the world’s best waves, wakes, and rides is our why. Giving back to the men and women who serve our country and communities is our privilege. At Centurion Boats, we strive to wake waves of positive change in our families, communities, and beyond. One of the ways we do that is through our Salute to Service events, held alongside Centurion World Series of Wake Surfing stops in partnership with local dealers and service organizations like Ski Dock and Operation Get Out.
Ahead of the Centurion WSWS event on Lake Conroe, 14 heroes from the Navy, Houston Police Department, and the Montgomery County first responders, joined OGO for a special day on the water. The heroes were joined by Team Centurion athletes, Chad Hudson, Sean Silveira, Nicole Hudson, Jake Breedlove, Tyler Stewart and Zane Montgomery who helped coach and drive boats. Even with a cold front rolling through and temperatures sitting in the 50s, the weather cleared about 30 minutes after everyone got on the lake and turned into an awesome day.
Four Centurion boats, including the Ri265, two Ri230s, and an Nv243, gave the group a chance to surf, relax, laugh, and just enjoy time together on the water.
One of the most impactful moments of the day came when a fully geared Houston Police Department officer stepped onto the swim step alongside Team Centurion athlete, Chad Hudson and an HPD Sergeant. He had never been on a boat before and was genuinely afraid of the water but pushed himself to try something completely outside of his comfort zone. Within two pulls, he was surfing without a rope!
“HPD Officer Jasmine, must have jumped off the boat at least 35 times into the water. She was singing and having an absolute riot,” says Chad. “Between her and Marcus who was afraid of water but still surfed, those were the two highlights of the day.”
The event also brought together people who had attended previous S2S events and those experiencing it for the first time. Team Centurion athlete, Sean Silvera, shared how impactful the day was and said he plans to attend OGO’s upcoming fall retreat. Another participant had discovered Centurion at a boat show just two weeks earlier after talking with Ski Dock Houston Manager, Johnny, and taking a demo ride. After hearing about the S2S event, he signed up, learned to surf, and spent the day laughing with the crew. By the end of it, he was already saying, “I can’t wait to buy a boat.”
The Lake Conroe Salute to Service event was a reminder of what these days are really about: connection, encouragement, and giving back to the people who give so much to their communities every day. We’re honored to continue supporting and celebrating these heroes through events like this.
There is more action to come on Lake Conroe. Stay tuned for a recap on the Come and Take it Wake Surf Classic!
About Operation Get Out: Operation Get Out (OGO) was founded to provide the experiences and resources people need to intentionally utilize nature and water for positive mental and physical wellness. The inspiration for OGO came through the tragic loss of two Austin Area first responders who used the water for their own respite and release. StarFlight nurse Kristin McLain died during a flight rescue, and Senior Deputy, Jessica Hollis, died during a flood response, but their legacy of service lives on through the healing OGO events perpetuate. The OGO Team is dedicated to utilizing exposure to water in an outdoor environment as medicine for first responders, military, women, youth, and surviving partners who are dealing with PTS, loss, trauma, depression and anxiety.
